Canon FTb QL c1971
The FTb QL with the 50 1.8 was the first SLR I bought new and it’s still in my top-ten favorites. It’s a simple and rugged, match-needle rock. The QL stands for quick load and it fits. The camera is very easy to load. I bought one for my wife when we were dating.
I set up a darkroom in a bathroom and the hook was set. I became an addict.
It took me thirty years to upgrade to the 1.4 The 50mm 1.4 SSC is a beautiful lens. It’s much appreciated by older eyes.
Belchertown State School
I bought a 16mm Kiev fisheye after seeing some photos produced by a camera sporting one. The lens came with a nice bag, a set of filters and a comical book of instructions. I’m pleased with the results, considering the fact that the lens costs significantly less than $200 !
