“Slim Davis”

The van reads (in part) – “Owned and operated by “Slim” Davis Junior.*7 Filbert Street, York PA.” The nickname is rarely used these days. It used to be common.
Filbert Street is mostly residential. It starts at #1409 and ends at #2398. Businesses include “Crazy Tomato Pizza” and “The West York Cafe.”
Bowes grew into a huge auto products company.



Borden’s Ice Cream at twenty seven cents a pint. There were lots of asses on those stools.
I’ll bet there’s a McDonald’s or a similar establishment at this site today.
