Northampton State Hospital 1858 - 1993 Northampton MA

Empty since 1993 the facility looms like a nightmare on nearly 200 acres of land in western Massachusetts. Ground floor windows are boarded up and buildings are surrounded by high fences. Demolition crews have started to slowly eat away at the old buildings and one day they will be gone.

The hospital is comprised of dozens of buildings. All of them feature barred windows and heavy masonry.

The grounds are silent now. The do not betray the misery that surely must have existed here.
