Winter is a time of subtle color in New England. The rich green of summer is long forgotten and the riot of autumn is gone.

We have to seek color in winter. And find it where it awakens for a moment, in the late afternoon sun.

The cold makes us hurry as we duck deep in our clothing. We miss the colors that we slow down for in summer.

Sunny days mean blue shadows on the snow.
