Cold April day
Out early the first few days Quabbin opened, Mark and I fought the wind, hail and snow. Most of the day was miserably slow until we were heading back to the launch and decided to give one last spot a chance.

A dozen cooperative smallies can change a horrible day into a memorable one.

This one brushed the five pound mark on my scale.

Mark loaded the boat on a hundred yard stretch of shoreline in early May. Five smallies in the four pound range made it to the boat.

Aye laddy.

Fat largie fooled by a jig and pig early in the morning.

Four pound smallie on topwater.
